Signed the concession for the installation of Ferreira Gomes HPP

Mines and Energy Minister Márcio Zimmermann signed this Tuesday (11/09) a concession agreement to implant and deploy Ferreira Gomes hydroelectric power plant in Amapá state. The document has been signed also by the representatives of Ferreira Gomes Energia S.A., a company established by Alupar in order to execute this project.

Ferreira Gomes HPP will be installed Araguari river in Ferreira Gomes county (state of Amapá). The hydroelectric power plant concession has been bought at auctions by Alupar in the first power supply auction A-5 in the current year, promoted on July 30th by Aneel, Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency.

This undertaking evaluated in R$ 810 million is considered of essential importance for the energy supply in the North region that nowadays depends on thermal supplies (the most expensive and polluting resource). The hydroelectric power plant will have a power of 252 MW.
