Groundbreaking for UHE Ferreira Gomes is celebrated

Last Wednesday, September 28th, the office of Ferreira Gomes Energia for the construction of the Ferreira Gomes Hydropower Plant, in the State of Amapá, was inaugurated. On the previous day, State government officials and representatives from Ferreira Gomes Energia signed the license for implementing the worksite and the area loaned for the power plant construction.

With installed capacity of 252 [MW], generating a sufficient volume to supply a city with over 500,000 people, the Ferreira Gomes Hydropower Plant will be built by the company Ferreira Gomes Energia S/A, a member of the holding Alupar Investimento.

Currently, a considerable part of the energy that supplies Amapá is generated from the diesel oil consumption, a non-renewable source of energy. Ferreira Gomes Plant will help the State of Amapá to become self-sufficient in renewable sources of energy.

The construction works for the Ferreira Gomes Hydropower Plant shall start in October.
