Alupar wins Lot D in transmission auction

12/16/2011 – Alupar won on Friday (16), in an auction of transmission lines performed by the National Agency of Electrical Energy (ANEEL) the Lot D, composed by the substations Abdon Batista (525 kV) and Gaspar (230 kV), both in the state of Santa Catarina. The venture will be performed by Empresa Catarinense de Transmissão de Energia S.A., a company formed by Alupar (42.5%), Celesc (30.9%), Cemig (19.1%) and MDU (7.5%).

With a planned investment of R$ 191 million, the project will generate about 950 direct jobs during the 24 months specified by ANEEL for the construction, from the signing of the concession contract.

The system aims to meet the integration of the hydroelectric power plants of Garibaldi (175 MW) and São Roque (214 MW) to the National Interlinked System, as well as forecasting the integration of some SHPPs (Small Hydro Power Plants) to request access to the Celesc distribution system. In addition, the venture will serve to expand the supply of electricity to the region of Vale do Itajai and to the Blumenau substation (230/138 kV).

Alupar, which already operates 500 km of transmission lines and two substations in the state of Santa Catarina, will have two new substations in the state.

With this new venture, Alupar consolidates a group of 20 power transmission companies with 5,665 km of lines and 14 substations own.
